The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team aims for its third consecutive win on Saturday when it visits UC Santa Barbara at 2:00 p.m. (HT).
 
The Rainbow Wahine are coming off back-to-back Big West Conference wins over Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly to even their conference record at 2-2 and improve to 6-10 overall. The Gauchos, meanwhile, have won three in a row and six of their last eight, and enter Saturday's game at 8-9 overall and 3-1 in the Big West.
 
Hawai'i turned in arguably its best offensive performance of the season at Cal Poly on Thursday, shooting 57 percent from the field with 29 made field goals and 16 assists, all season-highs. Hawai'i's 87 points were the second-most scored by the 'Bows this season, one shy of the 88 they tallied against Hawai'i Pacific.
 
Something will have to give at the 3-point line on Saturday, as Hawai'i brings one of the nation's top 3-point defenses to The Thunderdome, ranking 14^th in the NCAA with a 26.3 opponent 3-point field goal percentage. The Gauchos, however, lead the Big West with 9.0 made 3-pointers per game in league play, and are shooting 35.0 percent from long range in those games.
 
Hawai'i owns a 26-13 advantage in the all-time series against UCSB and will put its seven-game winning streak in the series on the line Saturday. The 'Bows won the last meeting 59-45 and are 10-7 all-time in Santa Barbara.
 
Saturday's game marks the end of a stretch of four road games in Hawai'i's first five Big West Conference games. The Rainbow Wahine will return home to play six of their next eight games starting Jan. 26 against UC Irvine.
