Men's Basketball

UH and UC Davis Set To Clash in Big West Duel

GAME NOTES

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (8-9, 2-2 BWC) looks to continue the momentum of two straight phenomenal home wins when it host UC Davis (11-8, 3-1 BWC) in a Big West matchup on Saturday, Jan. 21. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

This will be the third of five straight home contests for the Rainbow Warriors, who started the homestand with thrilling back-to-back wins over Long Beach State and CSUN. UH has averaged 97.0 ppg and 54 percent shooting in the wins and are now in a tie for fourth in the Big West standings with a 2-2 mark.

UH is coming off a heart-stopping 80-77 win over CSUN in which freshman Leland Green nailed the game-winning three-pointer with 0.9 seconds remaining. It marked the second straight game UH overcame a second-half deficit and won or tied the game on the final possession of regulation.

UH now takes on a Aggie squad that is currently second in the BIg West with a 3-1 mark. The 'Bows have won its last three versus UCD. Last year's season sweep included a Big West title clinching win at Davis. UH also upset the No. 1 Aggies in the 2015 Big West Tourney semis.

Noah Allen is averaging 27.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg in the last two contests, including a 30-point, 12-rebound performance against CSUN.
