HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team takes on Ole Miss in a dual match on Wednesday, January 18 at 3:00 pm at the UH Tennis Complex.
Hawai'i's one-two punch, No. 119
Petra Melounova and
Cindy Nguyen both come into this match with identical 3-2 singles record. Melounova sealed UH's 4-3 victory over Kansas State last week with a straight set win on the No. 1 court. She has won two of her last three matches. Nguyen also helped lift the Rainbow Wahine over the Wildcats with a 6-4, 6-1 K-State's Millie Stretton on the No. 2 court.
In doubles, recently UH has played Melounova and
Roxanne Resma at No. 1 with No. 2 held down by Nguyen and Pribylova. Melounova and Resma enter this match with a 2-2 record while Nguyen and Pribylova are 2-0 at this point early in the season.
Ole Miss was right outside the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Top 25 poll. The are led by No. 31 Arianne Hartono in singles. Last week, the Rebels swept fellow Big West team, UC Irvine, 7-0.
