HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (0-1) finished their Rainbow Warrior Classic with a dual match against Ole Miss. The Rebels however swept the 'Bows 7-0 in both teams' first dual match of the season.
In doubles play, UH's duo of
Igor Kolaric and
Chris Cajigan fell in a hard fought match to Ole Miss' Zvonimir Babic and Ricardo Jorge by a break, 6-4.
Kolaric also battled in singles, dropping his match to No. 57 Tim Sandkaulen in three. Kolaric won the first set, but then dropped the second and the third was decided by a 10-point tie-breaker with the match already in hand. The final score was Sandkaulen winning, 3-6, 6-2, 10-8. Hawai'i's
Spencer Travalino won in a exhibition match over Robert Mounger, 6-1, 1-6, 6-1.
The Rainbow Warriors' next match will be this Friday, Jan. 13 against San Diego State.
