KAHUKU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine cross country team was back in action on Saturday morning at Kahuku Golf Course, with three performers competing as individuals in the all-local meet.
Topping the Rainbow Wahine, sophomore
Giovanna Casazza finished in 10th place in the meet's 5k race, crossing the finish line in 20:28.0, just seconds off her top time.
Finishing next for UH in 21st was freshman
Caitlyn Krueger, who recorded a personal-best time of 22:21.0, ahead of sophomore
Paige Sullivan in 25th with a time of 23:05.0.
With only three entrants, UH was not scored among the team rankings.
Saturday marked the second meet of the season on the Kahuku course for the Rainbow Wahine. UH will return one more time to the course, when the Rainbow Wahine host the Big West Conference Championship on Oct. 29.
UH opens the month of October back on the mainland at Sacramento State's Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento, Calif. The squad finished sixth in last year's CCC meet.
