Game Notes
HONOLULU –The Hawai'i women's soccer team has something to prove in 2016, and the Rainbow Wahine will get their first chance to make a statement this weekend when they host Oregon on Aug. 19 and Nevada on Aug. 21 in the Outrigger Soccer Classic Series. Friday's game begins at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday's game is slated for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff, both at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Live stats of both games will be available at HawaiiAthletics.com.

Hawai'i returns 17 players from last year's team and nine starters, including second-team all-Big West honoree
Storm Kenui and 2015 leading scorer
Dani Crawford. Sixth-year head coach
Michele Nagamine added 10 newcomers to compliment her returning players.

The Ducks posted a 6-13-0 record in 2015 but won their final two games against Washington and Oregon State to finish with a 3-8-0 record in Pac-12 play. Hawai'i earned a 1-0 victory at Oregon when the two schools last met in 2013.

"When I look at Oregon as an opponent, Friday night is going to be an absolute challenge for us," Nagamine said. "We're going to have to be at our best to get the result. Oregon is such a good team on the rise. They are really starting to get some attention in the Pac-12."

Hawai'i went 3-14-1 in 2015 and faces a Nevada team on Sunday that went 6-11-2 last year. The Wolf Pack edged Hawai'i 3-2 last season. Nagamine said all three programs are in similar situations, looking to build momentum with a breakout season.

"Oregon and Nevada are very similar to us in where they are as a program. They're just starting to realize their potential," Nagamine said.
