Track's Ah Nee Finishes Ninth At Big West Multi Championships

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Big West Track and Field Multi-Event Championships wrapped competition on Saturday at Jack Rose Stadium, with UH's lone competitor, Sha'tres Ah Nee finishing ninth in the heptathlon, recording multiple personal bests in the process.

Ah Nee was competing in the event for only the fourth time in her career, but was able to rack up a career-high 4,467 points for ninth place. Her score sets her ninth among the UH all-time top 10 performers in the event.

She recorded personal-best marks in the 100m hurdles (ninth, 15.42), long jump (ninth, 17-04.00/5.28m), shot put (eighth, 32-5.75/9.90m) and high jump (third, 5-4.25/1.63m). She also finished fifth in the event 200m with a time of 25.62.

Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the full Big West Track and Field Championships, next weekend, May 13-14 at Jack Rose Stadium.
