NORTHRIDGE, Calif.-The No. 56 University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (7-7, 2-2 Big West) battled hard, but in the end fell to No. 22 Fresno State in a neutral match held at the Matador Tennis Complex in Northridge, Calif.

The Bulldogs(9-4, 0-0 MWC) cruised through the doubles competition, getting wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. No. 2 Mayar Sharif Ahmet and Galina Bykova blanked UH's Roxanne Resma and Cindy Nguyen, 6-0. FSU's Sofia Malysheva and Olivia Noble then defeated UH's Paulina Petriskova and Marina Hruba, 6-1 to earn the doubles point for the early 1-0 lead.

Fresno State went up 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win with Malysheva defeating UH's Klara Pribylova at No. 4. But Hawai'i's No. 2 Hruba then won their lone match, defeating Sophie Watts, 6-4, 6-1.The Bulldogs' 30^th-ranked Ahmet then held off Nguyen at No. 1, 7-5, 6-1 and Bykova defeated UH' Sarah Gealer, 7-6 (3), 6-2.

Hawai'i returns home this week to host Grand Canyon on March 12 and Pacific on March 14 at the UH Tennis Complex.
