HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team swept Grand Canyon in a dual match on Saturday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.
The Rainbow Wahine shook up their two of their doubles pairings which worked out for the 'Bows. Playing No. 1 for the first time together was Klara Pribylova and
Paulina Petriskova who defeated Tatum Prudhomme and Susan Baklini, 6-3. Playing at their normal No. 2 slot, partners
Roxanne Resma and
Cindy Nguyen knocked off Alexandra Petrazalkova and Kylie Washchuck, 6-3 for the first point of the match.
In singles, UH won their first three matches to complete the sweep.
Marina Hruba continued her dominance, defeated Petrazalkova, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Nguyen then held off Prudhomme in the first set 7-5 before blanking her opponent, 6-0 in the second set. Petriskova then edged out Marie Deleval, 6-2, 7-6 (2) at No. 6 to finish the match.
Next up, Hawai'i will face old conference foe, Pacific on Monday, March 14 at 3:00 pm at the UH Tennis Complex.
