HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'I women's track and field team wrapped competition at the second meet in the all-comer Sunrise Series, taking on the Dr. Donnis Thompson Memorial Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.

The biggest highlight of the day for UH came for Veracruz, Mexico senior Tiziana Ruiz Dominguez, who won the pole vault with a personal-best height of 13-3 (4.05m), exceeding her previous career high by nearly 1.6 inches (.04m) to lead the field.

'Ewa Beach, O'ahu sophomore Sha'tres Ah Nee also reached a big personal best, improving her long jump distance by 9.5 inches, winning the event with a leap of 17-1.5 (5.22m). Ah Nee also was a strong performer in the 200m, recording a season-best 26.29 time to top the event.

Greeley, Colo. Sophomore Tara Harms made her second appearance of the season, winning the weight throw with a personal record of 48-8.4 (14.84m), also finishing third in the discus 100.0 (30.48m).

Next week, the Rainbow Wahine head back to Seattle and the Dempsey Indoor Complex for the third time this season, taking on a two-day affair at the Husky Classic, Feb. 12-13.
