Women's Tennis Returns To Host No. 68 UCSB, No. 46 Oregon

HONOLULU—The No. 61 University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (6-3, 2-0 Big West) returns home to host a pair of high-powered dual matches at the UH Tennis Complex this week. The Rainbow Wahine will take on No. 68 UC Santa Barbara (2-4, 1-0 Big West) on Friday, Feb. 26 at 3:00 p.m. in a Big West contest, followed by a match against No. 46 Oregon (5-2, 0-0 Pac-12) on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 1:00 p.m.

The Rainbow Wahine went 3-0 on their recent roadtrip to California, defeating UC Riverside, San Diego State and San Diego last week. Their three road wins extended their win-streak to five matches.

No. 99 Marina Hruba continues her stellar start to her Rainbow Wahine career. Currently, she is 11-0 overall and 8-0 in dual matches primarily at No. 2 or No. 3. In singles she has won six of her last seven matches in straight sets with the seventh match going unfinished against Cal Poly.

Junior Cindy Nguyen is 3-5 in dual matches thus far, but has won two of her last three matches. She has played all her matches on the No. 1 court. In doubles, she and her partner Roxanne Resma lead UH with a team-best 7-3 record overall and 5-2 dual match mark. The duo has played majority of their matches on the No. 2 court.

This past week, senior Sarah Gealer closed out the Rainbow Wahine's roadtrip, clinching both the doubles point with partner Klara Pribylova, as well as the match in singles at No. 3. In doubles, she and Pribylova edged out San Diego's Dana Oppinger and Drew Spinosa, 7-6 (4). Then in singles, Gealer clinched the match with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over Spinosa at No. 3
