Pearl Harbor Invitational On Deck For Men’s Basketball

GAME NOTES

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball will take part in a meaningful two-day event when it plays in the FS1 Pearl Harbor Invitational, Dec. 6-7, in historic Bloch Arena at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. UH, Seton Hall, Princeton and California will play a pair double-headers on successive days as part of the 75th commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Rainbow Warriors will play the backend of the doubleheader on each day, facing 2016 Big East Champion Seton Hall (5-2) on Tuesday, Dec. 6, before playing Ivy League-favorite Princeton (2-3) on the actual anniversary date of Wednesday, December 7. Both games tipoff at 4:30 p.m. HT and will be televised live nationally on Fox Sports 1.

After opening the season with seven games in a 17-day span, the 'Bows will enter the Invitational off of more than a week's rest. UH defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 64-44, in its last outing on Nov. 27 to improve to 4-3. It was the second win in the last three games of 20 or more points, however, UH has had its share of tight games with three games coming down to the final possession.

This will be the fifth all-time between UH and Seton Hall with the Pirates leading the series, 3-1. Meanwhile, UH and Princeton will face off for the first time ever on the basketball court.
