Addie Steiner vs UO 2016

Women's Soccer

Steiner Earns Second Big West Offensive Player Of The Week Honor

Senior Addie Steiner (Prairie Village, Kan./Northwestern) captured Big West Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors on the heels of scoring a pair of game-winning goals in conference action.

The forward notched three goals in total to help the Rainbow Wahine topple both UC Riverside and UC Davis at home by 2-0 scores.  Her offensive prowess halted a 10-match conference losing streak and improved UH's home record to 7-0-1 this season, including a seven-game winning streak.

Steiner had a flair for the dramatic in the victory over the Highlanders.  She scored her first goal with just two seconds remaining in the first half to give UH the halftime lead, and then put the game away with her second tally with less than a minute to play in the game.

Against the Aggies, she recorded the game-clincher in the 27th minute as she notched her eighth goal of the season.

Others nominated: Kendra Bonsall (Cal Poly); Sarah Fajnor (Cal State Fullerton); Cynthia Sanchez (CSUN); Mimi Rangel (Long Beach State); Alicia Sloss (UC Davis)
