Women’s Soccer Looks To Bounce Back Against CSU Bakersfield

Storm Kenui hopes to find the back of the net for the first time this season
HONOLULU – After being shutout in two road losses this past weekend, the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine soccer team returns home to right the ship, hosting CSU Bakersfield on Saturday (Sept. 12) at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

The 'Bows (1-4-1) and Roadrunners have a brief and relatively recent history, having squared off three times with Bakersfield winning twice. Michele Nagamine was head coach for the most recent meeting, a 3-1 road loss in 2012.

Kama Pascua leads Hawai'i with a goal and an assist, netting the gamewinner in overtime against Denver to lift the 'Bows to the Outrigger Resorts No Ka 'Oi title.

Monk Berger has played every minute in goal. She has 27 saves on the season for a 1.88 goals against average with one shutout.

CSUB comes into the match 1-3-1 but winless in its last four contests. Maja Green has found the back of the net three times to lead the Roadrunners.

Kickoff at WPSS is set for 7:00 p.m.
