Round 1 ResultsSPRINGVILLE, Utah – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is currently in the lead after play was suspended in the second round of the Hobble Creek Fall Classic at the Hobble Creek Golf Course. Play was halted due to darkness after lighting and rain caused a pair of two-hour stoppages.
The Rainbow Wahine currently hold a seven-stroke lead over defending tourney champion New Mexico State after firing a first-round 293. UH is in the middle of Round 2 with a 1-over team score.
Individually, junior
Eimi Koga is tied for the lead at even par along with NMSU's Viviana Macias. The Washington transfer shot a first round 1-under 70 and is currently 1-over after nine holes of her second round. Junior
Raquel Ek is 1-over after firing a first round 73 and is 1-under through seven holes in Round 2.
Junior
Daezsa Tomas is currently 4-over while junior
Izzy Leung is 5-over. All four of UH's top scorers are among the Top 10 individually. Sophomore
Marie Donnici is currently 12-over par.
Behind UH and NMSU (+17) are Santa Clara (+24), Cal Poly (+25), and Weber State (+28) rounding out the top five in the 16-team field.
Weather permitting, Round 2 will conclude on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. MT followed by the third and final round.
