Portland State, San Francisco On Tap For Women's Soccer This Week

UH heads to Portland State and San Francisco this week
HONOLULU – After notching its first win in thrilling fashion, the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine soccer team hits the road for the first time this season, playing at Portland State on Friday, Sept. 4 (1:00 p.m. PT, 10:00 a.m. HT) and San Francisco on Sunday, Sept. 6 (11:00 a.m. PT, 8:00 a.m. HT). UH is 2-1-1 all time versus Portland State and 2-6-3 against USF.

The 'Bows (1-2-1) beat Denver this past Monday night to win the Outrigger Resorts No Ka 'Oi title. Kama Pascua was named to the all-tournament team for the third time and was voted Most Outstanding Player, scoring the game winner midway way through the first overtime period to lift UH to the victory.

UH has gotten off to a tough start to open the season losing to both No. 2 Stanford and California and settling for a tie versus Wyoming. A result or a win narrowly eluded the 'Bows in two of those matches and the win against Denver should provide a much needed lift heading to the weekend tilt on the west coast.

Pascua leads the 'Bows with a goal and an assist and Monk Berger, playing every minute in goal, has a total of 20 saves and her shutout vs. Denver was the first since her freshman year.
