HONOLULU —The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team kicks off its 2015 campaign this week when it hosts the Outrigger Resorts Soccer Classic, Aug. 21, 23 and 24. All home matches will again be played at the Waipi'o Peninsula Stadium and admission is free.

The 'Bows will have their hands full on opening weekend, facing a pair of Top 20 opponents in No. 3 Stanford and No. 18 Cal-Berkeley. BYU completes the four-team field. The Rainbow Wahine play their opener against the Cardinal on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7:00 p.m. as part of a tournament opening doubleheader that begins with a 4:30 p.m. match between BYU and Cal. The Classic picks up on Sunday when the 'Bows face the Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. and closes on Monday when BYU faces Stanford at 7:00 p.m.

Head Coach Michele Nagamine returns for her fifth season with the Rainbow Wahine, fielding a team of 17 returnees which includes NSCAA all-region selection Storm Kenui as well as all-conference performers Lidia Battaglia, Kama Pascua, and Sonest Furtado. The team will also be boosted by the arrival of six newcomers.

UH was also picked to finish sixth in the Big West Conference Preseason Poll with Kenui voted to the preseason all-conference team.

One notable return to the fold is junior Tiana Fujimoto. A former two-time all-conference and all-region selection, the Moanalua High School grad suffered a season-ending injury last year and had to miss all of 2014. Fujimoto will undoubtedly add depth up front.

The 'Bows will be looking for their first wins against both Stanford and Cal. The Cardinal were picked to win the Pac-12 after a College Cup appearance last season and Cal was voted to finish third.
