CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – University of Hawai'i sailors
Katrina Berry,
Cole Brauer, and
Patrick Manuel were recognized for their academic endeavors, named to the 2014-15 ICSA All-Academic Team announced by the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association.
The honorees must be a junior or senior, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be a starter or key reserve in at least seven university sponsored regattas. A seven-person committee comprised of representatives from conferences in the ICSA evaluates the nominated sailors. This year's All-Academic Team is comprised of 173 members. The cumulative GPA average of the honorees is 3.64.
Both the UH coed and women's sailing teams had solid seasons. Berry and Brauer made up the B Division squad at Gill Coed Eastern Semifinals, landing 12th overall after finishing 14 races with a score of 164. Berry also helped the women's B Division team to a 13
th-place finish at the ICSA Sperry Women's Eastern Semifinals.
The Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) is the governing authority for sailing competition at colleges and universities throughout the United States and in some parts of Canada.
