Full Results

NEWPORT, R.I. – The University of Hawai'i women's sailing team finished 13th at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Sperry Women's Eastern Semifinals, Tuesday evening on the waters of Newport Harbor.

UH competed among 13 of the country's top schools and with just the top nine advancing to the National Championships, the Rainbow Wahine will not go on to compete for the title. Dartmouth College finished at the top spot with a score of 98 in the Eastern Semifinals, while Yale topped the Western division.

The opening day of the semifinals saw temperatures in the high 60's to low 70's with the winds oscillating from the south to southwest at 8-14 knots.

The Rainbow Wahine A Division squad of Louise Currie, Elizabeth Boystak and Cole Brauer finished with 154 points for 13th place with Currie and Boystak earning the team's highest finish at eighth place for one of the 13 races.

Meanwhile, the UH B Division squad of Caitlin Schadt, Madeline Anzivino and Katrina Berry finished within the top nine twice, but  it wasn't enough to pull the Rainbow Wahine ahead, as the Division B team also finished 13th out of 14 teams with 154 points.

The UH coed sailing team will kick off the Gill Coed Nationals on May 31.
