Track & Field Closes Out Road Trip At Beach Invite

Live Results

NORWALK, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team closed out its busy week by participating in the Beach Invitational, Saturday, at Cerritos College.

After three consecutive days of competition – four straight for the heptathletes – fatigue, understandably, set in for the Rainbow Wahine. However, there were a few bright spots including freshman Sha'tres Ah Nee, who won her section of the high jump. The Campbell High School graduate set a new personal best and Big West Conference Championship qualifying mark of 5-3 (1.60m).

Junior Jade Vaughan ran a seasonal best in the 400-meter hurdles – her third race in as many days – with a time of 1:03.24. Sophomore Caitlyn Foss ran a personal best in the 5000-meters at 19:06.74.

Senior Alex Porlier Langlois was the lone Rainbow Wahine who competed in the Mt. SAC Relays, placing 12th in the Invitational Section of the shot put with a mark of 49-1 (14.96m). She also competed in the discus at the Beach Invite and threw 161-5 (49.20m).

The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Sunrise Series Meet Finale, Saturday, April 25 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
