nd place, respectively, following the first day of the California Heptathlon competition Wednesday at the Azusa Pacific's Cougar Stadium.

Each competing in their first-ever heptathlon, Vazquez set personal bests in the high jump, shot put, and 200-meters while Ah Nee PR'd in the high jump and shot put. Ah Nee scored 2,560 points through the first four disciplines while Vazquez has a 2,444-point total entering Thursday's second day and final three events.

In the competition's first event, the 100-meter hurdles, Ah Nee posted a time of 16.81 seconds while Vazquez crossed the finish line in 16.62 seconds. Both then set PRs in the high jump with Ah Nee clearing 5-1¼ (1.56m) and Vazquez jumping 4-8¾ (1.44m).

Both athletes also set new bests in the shot put – Vazquez at 35-1¾ (10.71m) and Ah Nee at 30-1½ (9.18m). In the 200-meter dash, the day's final event, Ah Nee recorded a time of 26.23 seconds while PR'd at 27.47 seconds.

In addition to the final day of the California Heptathlon, the rest of the Rainbow Wahine will compete in either the Cal State Los Angeles' Twilight Meet or Mt. SAC Relays.
