HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team defeated Charleston Southern, 105-65, in a dual meet Friday and Saturday at the Clareance T.C. Ching Athletics Complex. The meet was part of the annual Rainbow Relays event.

The Rainbow Wahine won 13 of the 18 contested events, including seven of the eight field events. Three UH athletes were two-event winners – sophomore Rachel Toliver (400-meter and triple jump), senior Louise Mulvey (800-meter and 1500-meter), and sophomore Felicianna Vazquez (long jump and javelin). Both of Mulvey's times were personal bests and Big West Conference qualifying marks while Vazquez also competed in the 100-meter hurdles and posted a PR of 15.62 seconds.

CSU's Jasmine Pilgrim captured the 100- and 200-meter events.

Among the UH's top performers was junior Charlinda Ioane, who threw two big personal bests to win the discus (164-8 / 50.20m) and finish second in the shot put (48-11½ / 14.92m). Senior Alex Porlier Langlois won the shot put (50-6¾ / 15.41m) and finished second in both the discus (148-3 / 45.20m) and hammer throw (148-4 / 45.21m) events.

In the pole vault, newcomer Tiziana Ruiz Dominguez set her UH-best by clearing 13-1¾ (4.01m), which is the top mark in the conference this season and ranks No. 24 in the NCAA West Region. Senior Joanna Franke-Kuhn won the hammer throw event with a mark of (178-8 / 54.47m).

Several other UH athletes posted PRs – sophomore Desiree Winters in the 100-meters (12.47s); sophomore Kayla Phillips in both the triple jump (38-1½ / 11.62m) and long jump (15-9 4.80m); freshman Renise La'a in the shot put (38-6¾ / 11.75m); freshman Tara Harms in the hammer throw (126-3 / 38.50m); and senior Jacqueline Donovan in the javelin (118-0 / 35.97m). the latter of which was a Big West qualifying mark.

The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in their annual weeklong tour of southern California, where they will compete in five meets in four days, including prestigious Mt. SAC Relays.
