ResultsLOS ANGELES, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i sailing team concluded the South Designate regatta Sunday afternoon, hosted by the University of Southern California. UH participated with two different squads and posted third and sixth place finishes among 25 teams.
The 'Bows' first-team consisted of
Chuck Eaton and
Patrick Manuel sailing in Division A along with
Giacomo Paoletti and
Katrina Berry in Division B. Eaton and Manuel landed third with a total score of 45 points while Paoletti and Berry finished fourth with 53 points to combine for a total of 98, good enough for third overall.
The Rainbows' second-team finished in sixth-place with a total of 124 points.
Jeremy Hitchcock and
Cole Brauer sailed in Division A and took sixth with a score of 59 while Division B's
Mackenzie Cook and
Taylor Morgan landed seventh with 65 points.
Event-host USC's first-team won the regatta with a total of 56 points while UC Santa Barbara followed with 97 in front of UH.
The 'Bows return to the water April 4-5 for the St. Francis Collegiate Invitational in San Francisco, Calif.
