SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team completed the 37th annual San Diego State Invitational with several top marks, Saturday, at the AzTrack.
Sophomore Rachel Toliver posted the school's fastest 200-meter time (24.68) in a decade, since Tasha Monroe ran 23.95 in 2005. The sophomore from Los Angeles, Calif., also placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 38-0 1/4 (11.59m).
In the pole vault, sophomore Amber Kozaki placed seventh with a clearance of 12-6 3/4 (3.83m) while senior Robyn Morioka was eighth with the same height. Junior Tiziana Ruiz Dominguez placed 11th at 12-0 3/4 (3.68m).
In the triple jump, sophomore Kayla Phillips matched her PR with a leap of 37-3 1/4 (11.36m) while senior Louise Mulvey ran a personal best 2:13.49 in the 800-meters.
Junior thrower Alex Porlier Langlois continued her hot start to the 2015 season by winning the shot put (51-0 3/4 / 15.56m) and placing second in the discus (162-4 / 49.49m). A day earlier, the St-Cesaire, Quebec native placed first in the discus invitational division with a heave of 159-11 (48.74m) and set a new PR in the hammer throw of 155-7 (47.42m).
Also on Friday, freshman Montana Martinez moved up the charts in the school's 5000-meter list with a time of 17:54.67, which is now seventh-best in school history.
Sophomore Desiree Winters ran a PR of 12.53 seconds in the 100-meters while sophomore Flicianna Vazquez posted a new personal best in the long jump of 17-4 (5.28m).
The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Rainbow Relays, April 11 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
