Gismervik Concludes Day One At NCAA Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Hawai'i diver Amund Gismervik wrapped up day one at the 2015 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, Wednesday morning at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.

Gismervik opened day one at the national championships competing in the 1-meter diving event. The junior from Stavanger, Norway finished 30th out of nearly 50 divers in the preliminary round but did not qualify for the finals. Despite finishing below the top-16, Gismervik improved his score since last competing at the NCAA's last season from 310.65 to 322.30 this year.

Gismervik will continue his run at the championships diving in the 3-meter tomorrow morning. Last year, he finished 22nd with a score of 342.10. Earlier this season, Gismervik set a new school record in the 3-meter after a standout performance at the Arena Invitational (Nov. 21) with a score of 440.30.
