IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Hawai'i diver Amund Gismervik wrapped up day one at the 2015 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, Wednesday morning at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.

Gismervik opened day one at the national championships competing in the 1-meter diving event. The junior from Stavanger, Norway finished 30^th out of nearly 50 divers in the preliminary round but did not qualify for the finals. Despite finishing below the top-16, Gismervik improved his score since last competing at the NCAA's last season from 310.65 to 322.30 this year.

Gismervik will continue his run at the championships diving in the 3-meter tomorrow morning. Last year, he finished 22^nd with a score of 342.10. Earlier this season, Gismervik set a new school record in the 3-meter after a standout performance at the Arena Invitational (Nov. 21) with a score of 440.30.
