Olivia Urban came up just short again, falling to USC's Kelly Claes and Sara Hughes 21-19, 21-13 in the championship match of the Queen of the Beach Challenge on Saturday at the T.C. Ching Complex.
The 'Bows were not without their own hardware, as Lara Schreiber and Heather Boyan won the bronze bracket championship with an exciting 21-15, 18-21, 15-10 win over Cal's Emily Lunt and Sarah Cole.Â
Spieler and Urban, UH's No. 2 pair, lost their second title match of the season in as many trips. The tandem also fell in the final of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational earlier this month. The first set featured a tight contest but, after UH cut the lead to 11-10, the Women of Troy pair took control and sprinted to the finish line.

London Chow and
Hannah Zalopany advanced to the silver bracket semifinal before falling to Justine Wong-Orantes and Alicia Ostrander of Nebraska.

The 'Bows close out their homestand on Sunday, hosting back-to-back dual matches against Nebraska and Calfornia beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the T.C. Ching Complex. OCSports television coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m.
