Four Big West Marks Sets At Trojan Invitational

Day 1 Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team achieved four Big West Conference Championship qualifying marks in just three events during the first day of the Trojan Invitational, Friday.
 
Senior Alex Porlier Langlois posted two qualifying marks in the hammer throw and discus. Competing in the hammer for the first time, the St-Cesaire, Quebec native threw 149-5 (45.55m) to place fifth in her flight. She also heaved 163-1 (49.71m) in the discus and took third.
 
Senior Joanna Franke-Kuhn made a successful return after redshirting last season and threw a personal best 189-10 (57.87m) in the hammer, surpassing her previous best by eight inches.
 
In the 3000m steeplechase, freshman Montana Martinez ran a PR 11:26.99 and placed fourth.
 
The meet continues on Saturday.
