Live ResultsSEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team completed the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships Saturday with another school record, three more personal bests and a 14
th place finish. During the two-day competition at the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor, the Rainbow Wahine totaled two school records and nine personal bests.
One day after posting a huge personal best in the weight throw, junior
Alex Porlier Langlois captured the bronze medal in the shot put with another PR and school record 52-7¼ (16.03m). The mark eclipsed the previous record of 52-6½ (16.01m) set by Meghan Weaver in 2008.
Sophomore
Rachel Toliver posted a PR in her third event at the championships with a leap of 39-11¼ (12.17m) to place seventh in the triple jump. Just one day earlier, the Los Angeles, Calif., native set a school record in the 200-meters and a PR in the 60m.
Freshman
Montana Martinez also PR'd in the 3000-meters, clocking in at 9:56.60, the 6
th-best time in school history and fastest mark by a Rainbow Wahine in seven years. On Friday, the Harbor City, Calif., native did not post a time in the 5000-meters after rules officials inadvertently miscounted her number of laps, resulting in a disqualification.
Senior
Zhane Santiago was DQ'd in her 60-meter hurdles final event on Saturday. Sophomore Kayla Philips tied for 26
th in the triple jump (36-6¾/11.14m) and sophomore
Sabrina Mendoza placed 21
st in the shot put (41-7¼/12.68m).
UH will now await word whether any of its athletes will qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships, March 13-14, in Fayetteville, Ark.
