Negus Webster-Chan had a career-high 20 points and the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team bounced back from back-to-back losses with a 78-59 Big West Conference win over Long Beach State on Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Garrett Nevels and
Roderick Bobbitt filled the stat sheet for the 'Bows who improve to 19-11 and even their Big West record at 7-7.
Roderick Bobbitt had 15 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals with Nevels adding 14 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Bradford Jones led Long Beach State (13-16, 7-6 BWC) with 12 points and Travis Hammonds added a team-high eight rebounds.

The 'Bows got out to their trademarked fast start as Webster-Chan hit a three-pointer on three straight possessions to give his team an impressive 14-4 start. The Beach cut into the lead briefly when Tyler Lam's layup and three-pointer brought the deficit to just four points at the midway point of the first half.

Hawai'i responded with a 10-4 run as the 49ers went cold from the floor. The Beach went 3:33 without hitting a field goal as
Aaron Valdes's jumper gave UH a 12-point lead with 6:15 to play in the half.

UH struggled early in the second half as the Beach cut the lead to three points on a David Samuels jumper. The 'Bows would respond and reel off nine straight points and extend to a 16-point lead with 8:48 to play.
