Tournament Draw (pdf)HONOLULU -- The University of Hawai`i men's tennis team gets ready for the Pacific Mountain Invitational that will be hosted by the University of Pacific Tigers. There will be eight schools competing in this invitational from New Mexico, San Francisco, Idaho, Grand Canyon, Fresno State, Pacific and Cal Poly. The Rainbow Warriors will first play USF on Feb. 27. Also in their bracket is Fresno State and Idaho.
USF most recently won their match against UC Santa Barbara,
5-2. The Dons are led by senior Bernardo Saraiva who currently has four wins in singles. He most recently defeated UCSB's Morgan Mays 7-5, 6-4 and Cal Poly's Ben Donovan 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 1 position respectively.
Idaho is currently on a 5-match winning streak with a 5-1 record in 2015.They most recently won 6-1 against Northern Colorado. The Vandals is lead by senior Cristobal Ramos who is currently on a 5-match winning streak in singles and 6-match winning streak in doubles. He plays in the No. 4 singles position and No. 1 doubles position respectively.
Fresno St. most recently won their fourth match in a nail-biting 4-3 win against LMU. Freshman Joshua Zeoli leads the team with four win in singles. He beat Santa Clara's Max Heerinckx 6-3, 6-1 and cruised past Fresno City College's Jordan Jizmajian, 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 5 position respectively.
The Pacific Mountain Invitational will be held in Stockton, California and will be played on Friday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Mar. 1. Each team will play two dual matches on Friday. On Sunday each team will play a single match for its final placing.
