Final ResultsSEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team concluded a successful trip to the Pacific Northwest by posting several top marks at the UW Indoor Open, Sunday at Dempsey Indoor.
Throwers
Charlinda Ioane and
Sabrina Mendoza each posted personal best marks in the shot put competition. Ioane, a junior from Kapolei, O'ahu, took top honors with a heave of 47-7 (14.50m), which moved her into No. 4 on the school's all-time list. Mendoza, a sophomore from Burlingame, Calif., placed third with a throw of 44-11.75 (13.71m), which propels her into No. 6 on the list.
On Sunday,
Alex Porlier Langlois threw 51-0.25 (15.55m) at the Husky Classic, which ranks her second all-time.
Sophomore
Rachel Toliver completed a successful weekend with a second place showing in the triple jump. The Los Angeles, Calif., native jumped 39-3 (11.96m), the highest mark among collegiate athletes. Two days ago, Toliver set the school's 200-meter indoor record. On Sunday, she set a PR in the triple jump with the third-best mark in school history.
Freshman
Montana Martinez set a personal best in the 3000-meter run and crossed the finish line in 9:59.02. Her time ranks No. 9 all-time. On Friday, the Harbor City, Calif., native posted the second fastest 5000-meter mark in school history during the Husky Classic.
The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Terry Albritton Memorial, Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
