Box Score BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (7-5, 0-0 Big West Conference) defeated CSU Bakersfield (2-12, 0-0 Western Athletic Conference), 65-55, Wednesday night at the Icardo Center, finishing 3-0 on the road.

The Rainbow Wahine pulled together for a solid win over the Roadrunners, with five putting double-figure points on the scoreboard. Senior Destiny King led UH with 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Connie Morris also contributed 12 points and three rebounds for the 'Bows.

UH finished the first half neck and neck with CSUB across the stat line, shooting .357 (10-28) to .346 (9-26) with the Roadrunners, while out-rebounding them just 18-17. However, the 'Bows held a slight advantage over CSUB after converting 8-8 opportunities at the free throw line.  By halftime, the Rainbow Wahine led 28-21.

In the third quarter, the Roadrunners climbed back to bring themselves within two of UH's lead, 43-41 as the clock wound down. However, junior guard Briana Harris came through at the buzzer, sinking the 'Bows' first trey of the night to put them up 46-41.

From there, the 'Bows maintained an upper hand over the Roadrunners, finishing them off by a 10-point margin.

UH finished the night 22-for-49 in field goals (.449 FG%), with a solid .704 free throw percentage (19-27) and tied CSUB in rebounding with 33 boards – King and Karaitiana with six apiece.

The Rainbow Wahine return home to host the University of Pennsylvania, Jan. 2 at 8:00 p.m. HT the Stan Sheriff Center.
