Box Score (html)RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team remained winless on the road and in league play, losing to UC Riverside 2-1 in its Big West Conference road opener on Friday night at Riverside Soccer Stadium.
Chances on goal were in UH's favor, but UCR's two first half goals proved to be just enough. The 'Bows outshot the Highlanders 10-7 and held a 6-0 corner kick advantage but could only muster one goal on UCR goalkeeper Elizabeth Silas who had four saves on the night.
Monk Berger posted two saves for Hawai'i (3-9-1, 0-3 BWC).
The Highlanders (7-6, 1-1 BWC) got one early then scored another midway through the first half to take a 2-0 lead. In just the third minute, Tatum Lockett headed a free kick service from Blanca Barrio past Berger, then UCR padded its lead when Tyler Cunningham freed herself in the box and finished to Berger's far post.

The 'Bows play their second of two conference road games on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Cal State Fullerton. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. PT (2:00 p.m. HT).
