HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team will make its first Big West Conference road swing, traveling to Southern California for games against UC Riverside on Friday, Oct. 9 (7:00 p.m. PT, 4:00 p.m. HT) and Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, Oct. 11 (5:00 p.m. PT, 2:00 p.m. HT).
The 'Bows (3-8-1, 0-2 BWC) are coming off a difficult start to the league season, handily losing to both UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly last week.
Tiana Fujimoto and
Keala Parker-Lee both scored against Cal Poly but it came in a lopsided loss as UH opened conference play with a pair of home losses. The Cal Poly game was Parker-Lee's first career start and goal.
The Rainbow Wahine tasted success against UC Riverside last season. In a game played at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium,
Krystal Pascua scored a golden goal in the second overtime to lift UH to a 2-1 victory. The win evened the team's league record having lost by the same score to Cal State Fullerton earlier that week in the conference opener.
Dani Crawford leads the 'Bows with six points which includes a team-high three goals. Fujimoto is sitting at five points with two goals.
Monk Berger has the lion's share of the minutes in goal and is averaging just over two goals per game.
