Senior Night On Tap For Women's Soccer This Week

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team (3-13-1, 0-7 Big West) plays host to its final home match and season finale when it faces UC Irvine (6-10-1, 2-4 BWC) on Thursday, Oct. 29 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. Four departing players – Lidia Battaglia, Tiana Fujimoto, Amanda Bates and Erica Young will be honored following the match as part of Senior Night festivities.

The Rainbow Wahine will be closing what has been a difficult season and will be facing the Big West's eighth-place team in hopes of closing the season with their first conference win. The 'Bows nearly got that win this past weekend but suffered a heartbreaking loss at Long Beach State. Freshman Sarah Lau scored her first career goal then added an equalizer, but a 90th-minute goal by the Beach turned back the 'Bows.

Dani Crawford continues to lead the 'Bows with three goals on the season and Storm Kenui, who has seen action up front, at center midfield and in the back, has a team-high three assists.

UC Irvine leads the all-time series 1-4-1 with the 'Bows winning their most recent meeting, a 1-0 victory on the road.
