Round 3 Results/Final StandingsWAHIAWA, O'ahu—The University of Hawai'i women's golf team had another solid finish this fall, finishing in a tie for second place in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational held at Leileihua Golf Club in Wahiawa, O'ahu on Thursday. Hawai'i started the day in fourth place, but moved up to second by shooting a 290 in the final round. Overall UH finished the tournament with an 886 total (300-296-290) to tie with New Mexico State (301-291-294). Three Rainbow Wahine finished in the Top 10—
Raquel Ek finished in fourth place at 1-under;
Eimi Koga came in tied for sixth place at 3-over; and
Izzy Leung was tied for ninth at 4-over in the three day tournament.
Ek fired her second 71 of the tournament after shooting 73 on Wednesday to finish the Invitational 1-under. Ek (71-73-71) started the day birdying three of the first four holes, but gave up bogyes on No. 5 and No. 12. Ek has been under par in three of UH's eight rounds played thus far.
Koga shot a 73 in the final round on Thursday. She also started the day on fire, getting back-to-back birdies to start the day on holes 2 and 3. Koga also birdied the par-4 No. 7, but slipped a bit on the back nine, giving up four bogeys to finish her day 1-over. Koga (78-68-73) finished with a 219 total.
Leung fired a 73 on Thursday to finish the tournament at 4-over. She shot par for the first two holes before getting a bogey on No. 5. But Leung battled right back to birdie the next two holes at the par 5 no. 6 and the par-4 No. 7. She added another birdie on No. 15, but struggled down the stretch with three bogeys on her last five holes.
Nichole Cruz finished the Invitational tied for 40th at 232 (80-79-73). She finished the tourney strong, improving every day to fire a 73 in the last round.
Daezsa Tomas (81-81-76) also finished strong, shooting a 76 in the final round to finish tied for 60th at 238.
Kaci Masuda was UH's top individual finisher, tying for 52nd at 235 (79-74-82) while
Kelli-Anne Katsuda finished the tourney tied for 60th with teammated Tomas at 238 (86-74-78).
Lauren Kirkwood finished at No. 78 with a 249 (86-81-82).
The Rainbow Wahine will have a little over a week to prepare for the Pac 12 Preview at Nanea in Kohala, Hawai'i, Nov. 2-3.
