LAHAINA, Maui--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team completed the second day of the Rainbow Wahine Spring Invitational at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Complex. No. 7 California won 11 of its 12 its matches--three doubles and eight singles. The Rainbow Wahine battled but could not break through in the win column on Friday afternoon. 

Day Two started with doubles competition. Hawai'i's duo of Cindy Nguyen and Viktoria Malova pushed Cal's team of Maegan Manasse and Denise Starr while UH's Rebecca Faltusz and Daisy Green faced the Golden Bears' Karla Popvic and Stephanie Lin, but both fell 6-4.

In singles, Nguyen and newcomer Klara Pribylova both saw their matches go to three sets. Nguyen  won her first set, 6-4, but her opponent, Duke's No. 87 Ester Goldfeld bounced back to take the final two sets, 6-3 and 6-1 to win the match. Pribylova also won the first set, 3-6 but dropped the second set 6-3 against Cal's Lyann Hoang. The final set was extremely close, but Hoang prevailed, 7-5 to defeat Pribylova.

Hawai'i will conclude play in the Rainbow Wahine Spring Invitational on Saturday with matches starting at 12:00 p.m.
