ResultsHONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's and women's diving team concluded the Hawai'i Diving Invitational with the platform event, Friday afternoon at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. UH hosted divers from Nevada, Wisconsin, and Columbia.
Junior
Amund Gismervik won the men's platform for the 'Bows with a landslide 411.15 points, followed by Columbia's Jayden Pantel (248.15). Gismervik holds the school record on the platform and was last year's Hawai'i Diving Invitational champion in all three events. Sophomore
Eric Klassen finished third for UH (285.00), with Wisconsin's Max Reynolds landing fourth (206.75).
On the women's platform,
Genevieve Bradley led the Rainbow Wahine finishing third overall, followed by
Aimee Harrison in fourth. Bradley and Harrison's respective scores of 240.85 and 240.15 qualified them for the NCAA Zone E Championships in March at the U.S. Air Force Academy alongside teammates Gismervik, Klassen, and
Lauren Hall, where they will compete in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Championship.
Nevada's Krysta Palmer won the platform with a score of 328.00, followed by Wisconsin's Ashley Peterson (258.10).
Diving continues action Jan. 17 for the three-day Bruin Diving Invitational, hosted by UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif.
