Men's Tennis Battles Pacific In Pair Of Dual Matches

HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team faces Pacific in back-to-back dual matches this Saturday, Jan. 24 and Sunday, Jan. 25 at the UH Tennis Complex.

Hawai'i is fell in their season-opening dual match to No. 33 Boise State at the Kapalua Tennis Garden on the island of Maui this past Sunday. Freshman Felix Albert was the Rainbow Warriors only player to win both his doubles and singles matches. Albert with partner Chas Okamoto held off the Broncos' Brian Foley and Abe Hewko, 7-5 on the No. 3 court. In singles, Albert played at No. 5 and edged out Lewis Roskilly in a pair of fiercely competitive sets with Albert holding on for a 7-6 (5), 6-0 win.

Pacific has opened their season with an 0-2 mark with losses at UC Davis (5-2) and at No. 15 California (4-0). At UC Davis, the Tigers captured the doubles point with wins by the No. 1 (Sem Verbeek/Alex Hamilton) and No. 3 (Miguel Diaz/Jose Chamba) pairs. But the Aggies came back to take five of the singles matches for the win.
