MISSOULA, Mont.  – The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team capped a highly successful four-match road trip with a 2-1 over Montana Sunday afternoon at South Campus Stadium. The win gave UH three victories in four road matches –including a perfect 2-0 mark in the Montana Invitational.

UH got goals from freshman Sonest Furtado and senior Ashley Haruki to pick up the victory and close its non-conference schedule with a 5-5 mark. The Rainbow Wahine were close to recording its first clean sheet of the season, but surrendered a second-half penalty kick to spoil any shutout hopes.

UH got on the board in the 25th minute when Furtado scored on put-back after a  Kenui shot was initially saved by Montana goalie Kailey Norman. It was the fourth goal of the season for Furtado who scored or assisted in each of UH's four road matches.

The 'Bows took that  1-0 lead into the break, then 13 minutes into the second half got their second goal when a  TJ Reyno pass into the penalty box found Haruki, who put home a left-footer to give UH a two-goal cushion.

Montana  responded less than 10 minutes later by drawing a foul in the UH box. Brooke Moody put home the ensuing penalty kick and made it a 2-1 match in the 65th minute.

UH though was able to hang on for the final 25 minutes of regulation, denying a Montana squad (4-5) that unleashed 13 second-half shots.  Sophomore goalkeeper Erica Young picked up her second straight win in goal, while tying her career high with six saves.

The Rainbow Wahine will next return home for its annual Alumnae match on Saturday, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
