HONOLULU – The No. 17 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team regrouped from its Saturday night loss to Arizona State, topping San Diego State on Sunday night in the final match of the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Set scores were 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14.

Freshman Kalei Greeley was impressive in her first start, belting 15 kills at a .433 clip. Keani Passi and Olivia Magill each had 11 kills as the 'Bows hit .317 as a team. Kalei Adolpho, selected to the all-tournament team, had seven kills and six blocks with Magill also adding a match-high six blocks.

Ciara Brown led San Diego State (0-3) with 14 kills and Devyn Pritchard added 20 digs.

The Aztecs scored five of the first six points of the opening set, but the 'Bows rallied and tied the score at 7-7 on an Adolpho kill. The momentum continued as Gianna Guinasso notched a pair of aces, Tayler Higgins (8 digs, 2 blocks) added a block and a kill, and the 'Bows raced to the opening set win.

Hawai'i (2-1) carried the momentum into the second set and won handily 25-17. A steady dose of Greeley kills midway through the frame helped UH build a 12-6 lead. A Ginger Long (9 kills) kill extended the advantage to 17-9 and Passi ripped two straight kills late to help the 'Bows runaway for the two-set lead.

After a third-set hiccup, the Rainbow Wahine dominated SDSU in set four to close out the match. They scored the first six points of the set and never looked back.

The 'Bows will have a short week before facing New Mexico in the opening match of the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Classic next Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
