Women’s Soccer Hosts OHANA Hotels No Ka Oi

HONOLULU —The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team hosts the second of three straight tournaments when it competes in the OHANA Hotels and Resorts No Ka Oi at the Waipi'o Peninsula Stadium. UH and Northern Illinois kick off the tournament on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7:00 p.m.

Joining them in the round-robin tournament is Seattle, whom UH will conclude the tournament with on Monday, Sept. 1 at 5:00 p.m.  Seattle and Northern Illinois will face off on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 7:00 p.m.

The Rainbow Wahine are coming off a pair of losses against top-tier competition in the season-opening Outrigger Resorts Shootout. UH fell to Arizona State, 5-2, in its season-opener on Sunday, but bounced back with a strong performance the next day against Texas. UH took an early lead and battled the Longhorns for the full 90 minutes, before falling 2-1.

The 'Bows looks  for their first victory of the year against Northern Illinois while playing for the third time in a five-day span. It will be the first meeting between UH and the Huskies. Meanwhile the Rainbow Wahine face Seattle—the 2013 Western Athletic Conference champs—for the second time. The RedHawks won the first meeting by a 3-0 count in Seattle in 2011.
