FULL RESULTSSANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The University of Hawaii women's sailing squad finished in second place at the PCCSC Women's Championship hosted April 5-6 by UC Santa Barbara. With a top three finish the Rainbow Wahine qualified for next month's ICSA Women's National Championship—UH's seventh straight berth into the event.
The Rainbow Wahine were propelled by the tandem of
Madeline Kennedy and
Katrina Berry who captured the A division with a regatta-low 21 points.
Cecilia Jansson,
Louise Currie and
Annie Kelly also had a strong showing taking fourth place in the B division with 43 points.
Stanford captured the regatta with 36 points, while host UCSB also earned a bid to the nationals by finishing in third. A total of 12 teams competed in 20 races—10 in each division—over the weekend. At the end of the event, the Rainbow Wahine finished runner-up at the championships for the fourth straight year.
The Rainbow Wahine will now compete in the ICSA Women's Nationals to be hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy, May 27-30, in Annapolis, Md.
