SAN DIEGO – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior tennis team got swept in doubles and dropped the first three in singles en route to a 5-2 loss at San Diego State on Wednesday at the Aztec Tennis Center.
 
The 'Bows (6-11) resume Big West Conference play at UC Irvine on Friday for their final regular season match. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. PT (11:00 a.m. HT).
 
The Aztecs grabbed the doubles point with wins on the two followed by the one court. With the point already earned by SDSU, Pavel Liska and Chas Okamoto gave the Aztec pair of Andranik Khachatryan and Juan Florez all they could handle in three doubles in an 8-7 (8-4) tiebreak loss.
 
SDSU dominated in their three match-clinching wins, all in straight-set fashion. The final two finishes of the day proved to be the best contested. At the two, Nils Schuhmann rallied with a love win in the second set but eventually fell 6-4, 0-6, 6-4. Okamoto had a rally of his own at the three, dropping a first-set tiebreaker but responding with two hard fought wins in sets two and three to edge Freddy Gelbrich 6-7 (4-6), 7-5, 10-5.
 
Liska also won for the 'Bows in singles, beating Florez in straight sets on the six court, 6-3, 6-2.
