Amund Gismervik capped an impressive first season for the 'Bows with a selection to the NCAA All-America First Team. The All-American list was announced on Friday by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
Gismervik earned the honor with his third-place finish in the platform event at the 2014 NCAA National Swimming and Diving Championships this past March. In order to be considered an NCAA All-American, athletes have to finish in the top 8 in an individual or relay event at the NCAA Championships.
Earlier this season, Gismervik set a new UH platform dive record at the Arizona/Utah tri-meet and won gold in the platform at the NCAA Zone E Championships.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming at the collegiate level.
