Match NotesHONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team returns to the Stan Sheriff Center after a nearly three-week layoff to close out the home slate with a two-match Mountain Pacific Sports Federation series against No. 2 Brigham Young, Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5. Match times are 7:00 p.m.

The Rainbow Warriors (13-10, 11-9 MPSF) have not played at home since dropping a two-match series to UC Irvine, March 7 & 9. Since then, UH traded series sweeps with Stanford and Pacific and were idle last week. Hawai'i enters this weekend's series in ninth place in the MPSF standings and needs to finish in the top eight in order to qualify for the MPSF Tournament.
The Cougars (18-4, 18-2) have already clinched at least a share of the MPSF regular season for the second consecutive year and will have homecourt advantage throughout the tournament. BYU wrapped up the title with a four-set victory over UCLA last Saturday for its sixth straight win.

Promotions: First Hawaiian Bank is the sponsor on Friday and will award a $50 Zippy's gift card and $100 cash to the winner of the "Dance with the Rubber-Band Man Contest" at intermission. Fans can register to participate at the sports marketing table inside Gate A. There will be an autograph session with the men's volleyball team after the match in the arena concourse near Gate B and UH Alumni Association paid members and members of the military receive 50% off adult tickets. The University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union is the sponsor of Saturday's "Senior Night" contest and will distribute 500 sport water bottles and 1,000 men's volleyball team photos at Gate A prior to the match. UHFCU will honor the seniors of UH's Olympic sports with commemorative plaques during a special "Senior Salute" ceremony at intermission. Also, UHFCU will honor the seniors of the men's volleyball team following the match. Members of the military receive 50% off adult tickets and UH Kids' Club members are invited onto the court for the pre-match festivities. Series vs. BYU: BYU leads the overall series 34-17 and have won seven straight and 13 of the last 15 in the series, including all three meeting last season. The Cougars rallied for a controversial, five-set victory in the quarterfinals of the MPSF Tournament last season in Provo, Utah. BYU has swept the season series in each of the past three seasons. UH last won in 2010, taking both ends of a two-match series in Honolulu.

Jace Olsen – will play their final home matches this week. Timmer and West are three-year letterwinners while Ramos, Etim-Thomas and Olsen are two-year letterwinners.
- Ramos, a transfer from UOP, has started 47 of 50 career matches at setter and averaging 9.62 assists and 1.51 digs per set.
- Timmer has appeared in 57 career matches with career totals of 67 kills, 22 service aces, 60 digs, and 28 total blocks.
- West, a transfer from UC Irvine, has started 50 of 67 career matches in three seasons while averaging 1.56 kills and 0.86 blocks per set.
- Etim-Thomas has appeared in 10 matches with one career start.
- Olsen, a transfer from Penn State, has made 34 career starts in two seasons including all 23 matches this year with career totals of 246 kills (1.42 kps), 26 service aces, 142 digs (0.82), and 58 blocks (0.34).
Recapping The Stanford & UOP Series: UH played four matches in five days with a pair of two-match series at Stanford and Pacific. Stanford swept the series winning in straight sets in the opener and in five in the rematch. In the five-setter, the 'Bows rallied from two sets down to force a fifth set.
Brook Sedore led UH with a season-high 25 kills. In its final meeting ever against UOP, Hawai'i easily won both matches in straight sets.
What's Next: UH closes out the regular season at Pepperdine, April 11 & 12 at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, Calif.
