HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (5-7, 2-1 Big West) won their third match in a row, sweeping Sacred Heart (3-6, 1-0 Northeast), 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. It was the Rainbow Wahine's second sweep over an opponent in their last three matches. The match was originally scheduled for Friday, March 7, but due to inclement weather, it was moved to Sunday. 

The Rainbow Wahine started the match with a dominant effort in singles play. UH's No. 4 Sarah Gealer earned the first singles win, beating SHU's Lindsey Post in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. On the No. 1 court the 'Bows' Cindy Nguyen continued her solid play winning in straight sets over the Pioneers' Katie DeRienzo, 6-1, 6-2. No. 2 Xenia Suworowa earned UH's third win of the day as she almost shut out SHU's Gabriela Kaldan, 6-0, 6-1. The 'Bows' Kelsey Daguio outplayed her Pioneers' opponent Paige Olson for a 6-0, 6-4 victory on the No. 5 court while on the No. 2 court, UH's Martina Kostalova also was dominant in her match against SHU's Nicole Rydzewski, winning 6-2, 6-0. The 'Bows' No. 6  Rebecca Faltusz defeated the Pioneers' Taylor Gurda in the closest match of the day, winning 6-4, 6-4 to give UH the sweep.
 
UH would go on to capture the doubles point as well to complete the sweep. The No. 1 duo of Suworowa and Paulina Petriskova cruised past Sacred Heart's Kaldan and DeRienzo, 8-1. On the No. 3 court, the 'Bows' Kostalova and Gealer won their match against the Pioneers' Rydzewski and Gurda, 8-2, to give UH the doubles point. Cindy Nguyen and Rebecca Faltusz won their match against SHU's Lindsey Post and Paige Olsen, 8-3, on the No. 1 court.

The 'Bows will next play on March 13 against Pacific at 2:00 p.m. The match will be at the UH Tennis Complex.
