HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (4-7, 2-1 Big West) won an exciting match against Idaho (9-3, 2-0 Western Athletic), 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.

In singles play No. 4 Paulina Petriskova would earn the first victory for UH, beating UI's Sophie Vickers, 6-1, 6-3. On the No. 1 court the 'Bows' Cindy Nguyen won against the Vandal's Victoria Lozano in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Idaho would win the next two matches to tie the match 2-2. Martina Kostalova battled past UI's Galina Bykova, 6-4, 6-4, on the No. 3 court to give UH the lead. The Vandals would win the next match to tie it 3-3.

The Rainbow Wahine would win the match in doubles play. UH's No. 2 pair of Nguyen and Rebecca Faltusz played well and defeated UI's Bykova and Rita Bermudez, 8-3. The 'Bows' No. 3 duo of Kostalova and Sarah Gealer took their match against the Vandal's Belen Barcenilla and Vickers, 8-2, sealing the victory for UH.

The Rainbow Wahine will complete their match against Sacred Heart tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex. The match was postponed from Friday due to inclement weather.
