HONOLULU – The No. 5 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sand volleyball team returns home for four straight days of action at the Queen's Beach Sandbox, March 19-22. The Rainbow Wahine will host Arizona, No. 7 Nebraska and No. 2 USC in a set of dual matches on March 19 and 20, before competing with the same teams in the Jack in the Box Rainbow Wahine Spring Challenge on March 21-22.
 
Action will take place on five different courts at the Sandbox and fans are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs and towels. Admission is free.
 
The four schools will compete in a total of five dual matches on Wednesday and Thursday. Each school will field five doubles teams ranked by ability. Each doubles team plays against the corresponding team or teams from other schools with each doubles match worth one point. The team meet is won by the school capturing three of the five matches.
 
Friday and Saturday's Rainbow Wahine Spring Challenge will include pool play on Friday, followed by a championship, single-elimination bracket on Saturday.
 
The Rainbow Wahine sport a 5-1 record heading into this week. UH went a perfect 3-0 in its first home weekend two weeks ago, including a big win over defending national champions Long Beach State. This past weekend the Rainbow Wahine went 2-1 in Chula Vista, Calif., with wins over Cal State Northridge and Cal State Bakersfield and a loss to top-ranked Pepperdine.
 
The top UH tandems of Brittany Tiegs-Karissa Cook and Katie Spieler-Nikki Taylor have gone a combined 19-4 in dual matches and tournaments during the first two weeks of competition. Spieler and Taylor have finished runner-up in a pair of tournaments, including this past weekend's USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge.
