LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (1-7, 0-0 Big West) lost to Loyola Marymount (7-5, 0-2 West Coast) 5-2, at the LMU Tennis Center on Saturday morning.

LMU took the early lead by winning the doubles point. On the No. 3 court UH's Carter Lam and Marcel Chan played a contested match against Cristobal Rivera and David Doehring, but fell short, 8-6. The 'Bows' No. 2 pair David Schuster and Nils Schuhmann were also defeated by the Lion's Daniel Simko and Luke Bohuslav, 8-5, thus conceding the doubles point to LMU.

The 'Bows could not muster any momentum in singles as the Lions won three straight matches to seal the victory. No.3 Chas Okamoto gave UH its first point as he beat LMU's Sebastian Bustamente in a tight match, 4-6, 6-2, 3-0. The 'Bows' Jonathan Brooklyn won his singles match against the Lion's Doehring, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 on the No. 1 court, to give UH its second point.

UH will next play at home against Oklahoma State on March 18th at the UH Tennis Complex. The match will start at 2:00 p.m.
